Echandia Group AB (publ) is a public, unlisted company registered in Solna Sweden. From 2018 the company has focused exclusively on energy storage solutions, primarily for the maritime industry and heavy-duty industrial applications.
Echandia focuses on building large scale battery systems that can handle the toughest requirements and demands for safety, durability, size, weight and cost.
Echandia adheres to all relevant regulatory demands and build it business practices on solid corporate governance structures and financial reporting that lives up to high quality standards.
The majority of Echandia’s operations is carried out in the wholly owned subsidiary Echandia Marine AB. Echandia has its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, with offices in North America, the UK, Singapore, China, and Denmark.

On 12 February 2025, Echandia Group AB gave notice to attend an extraordinary general meeting which was intended to consider the amendment of the articles of association in order to remove the CSD clause and to introduce a provision on post-transfer acquisition rights. Since then, the general meeting held on 26 February 2025 has resolved on the corresponding amendment to the articles of association.

Den 12 februari 2025 kallade Echandia Group AB till extra bolagsstämma med avsikt att behandla frågan om ändring av bolagsordningen i syfte att ta bort avstämningsförbehållet och att införa ett hembudsförbehåll. Sedan dess har bolagsstämma den 26 februari 2025 fattat beslut om motsvarande ändring av bolagsordningen.

Chairman of the board
Born 1980, board member since 2022.
Other board assignments: Plain Learning Squid AB, Unbakery NYOB AB, Virtuous Spirits AB.
Education: Studies in mathematics, philosophy and economics at Lund University and Stockholm University.
Background: Mr. Ranstam has a background in finance and marketing. He is currently active as an angel investor in several companies, and works with capital acquisition and as an entrepreneur in the ed-tech sector.

Education: M.Sc (Engineering) Helsinki University of Technology.
Background: Katja has been commercializing technology for three decades, starting at Nokia and Ericsson. She has co-founded a SW company in voice recognition technology sold to Hewlett-Packard and has founded 3 VC funds since 2012, amongst them Course Corrected that first invested in Echandia in 2023. Course Corrected invests in European game changers, that disrupt traditional industries by outperforming incumbent solutions in cost and resource efficiency.

Education: M.Sc. in Vehicle Engineering, Naval Architect, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH).
Background: Magnus Eriksson is the founder of Echandia, and has served as CEO until October 2022. Magnus has extensive experience from development of complex ship systems, in particular Swedish military submarine systems, from The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).

Education: MBA SSE Stockholm School of Economics, Master of Finance from University of Karlstad.
Background: Anna has been commercializing technology for more than a decade, starting at SEB Ventures where she invested in tech companies for five years and now in her current position as Senior investment Director for Industrifonden responsible for Tech & Cleantech holdings since 2019. She has also spent four years working in New York as industrial advisor and Head of Finance for H&M North America Logistics, another three years for SEB as Head of Investment Strategy and six years as management consultant.
Industrifonden is recognized as one of the leading Nordic early stage investor with more than 40 years in the market with an ever green fund structure and has been an investor in Echandia since 2025.

Background: Samira Aissi has been investing in technology companies globally since 2018. Prior to this, she was a strategic and commercial advisor to growth companies in M&A and Deals at KPMG Global Strategy Group. She has experience in strategy consulting, business development, and product management from operational roles. Currently, Samira is an investment manager at SEB Greentech VC, which has been an investor in Echandia since 2025.

Background: Manuel Alamillo has more than 17 years of experience investing across Europe in venture and private equity. His previous investment work for Alantra Private Equity covered mature companies in many technology sectors; now as Partner at Klima Energy Fund, he focuses on energy transition high tech start-up companies. Manuel has been board member of 11 companies, and holds two post graduate degrees, in Finance & Law.

Education: MBA through the Global Social and Sustainable Enterprise program at Colorado State University.
Kate has worked at the intersection of impact investing and sustainable food and agriculture for over eight years, specializing in US food systems, fair trade supply chains, and consumer-facing brands. As Managing Director, Kate’s efforts are focused on making investments, managing portfolio companies, and serving on various portfolio company boards, with particular focus on structuring capital, facilitating syndications, and providing wraparound resources to enable oceans businesses to scale while preserving their mission. Prior to joining S2G, Kate was the Chief Lending Officer at RSF Social Finance, where she oversaw the capital deployment strategy to evaluate products, investment sectors, and growth objectives in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan.
