Advanced LTO battery system for naval emergency operations
Echandia will supply advanced battery systems for a military submarine rescue vessel (SRV) operated by a Southern European NATO member country. The order was placed by a global maritime system integrator on behalf of the navy and follows Echandia’s previous defense contracts for frigate programs.

A submarine rescue vessel is a specialized naval ship designed to locate and rescue submarines that become disabled or trapped at sea. Equipped with advanced sonar, remotely operated vehicles, and submersible rescue modules, an SRV can locate a distressed submarine and safely evacuate crew members to the surface. Beyond emergency operations, SRVs are also used for submarine training, underwater maintenance, and research, making them vital assets for the safety and readiness of naval fleets.

Why the navy chose Echandia:
Proven safety: No thermal runaway, no fire risk
High reliability: Redundant system architecture for mission-critical operations
Shock and vibration resistant: Designed for heavy-duty naval use
Long service life: Durable performance across repeated high-demand rescue missions
Performance and application
The submarine rescue vessel will rely on Echandia’s heavy-duty LTO battery system to provide continuous, stable power during critical missions. Designed for absolute safety and reliability, the system ensures redundant energy supply even under the extreme environmental conditions of subsea rescue operations.
This project represents one of the most advanced and specialized uses of maritime battery technology to date, where safety, dependability, and performance are directly linked to mission success.
This order significantly strengthens our position as a trusted supplier of safe and robust battery solutions within the naval sector. It also serves as a testament to the quality and safety inherent in our solutions.
